That Friday Feeling #1


OK, so while I’m sat here at work waiting for my computer to auto-rotate around 500 images, I’ve had an idea that I totally didn’t steal from a well-known fashion and lifestyle magazine… every Friday I shall be bestowing upon you a new cocktail recipe in a segment I like to call ‘That Friday Feeling’, to try and spice up your weekends.

For this, the first of many, I’d like to introduce the Dirty Martini.

To make a Dirty Martini, you will need:

50ml Gin
1tbsp Martini Bianco (dry)
2 olives
1tbsp Olive brine (from the olives, duh)

Put an ice cube and a small amount of water in cocktail glass.

Place in freezer for 2-3 minutes. Fill your shaker with all the ingredients, including the olives.

Cover and shake hard 3 or 4 times.

Remove your cocktail glass from the freezer, empty, strain drink into cocktail glass and add the olives from the shaker, preferably skewered on a cocktail stick.

While an acquired taste, many say that the Dirty version far outstrips the traditional Martini, particularly for those with a taste for olives and a slightly mischievous streak…
