Google Wave

Launched yesterday, Google Wave is billed as one of the most eagerly anticipated web-apps ever. Mashable.com reckons that invites to use Wave were even selling on eBay!

Wave is a web app that allows ‘real-time communication and collaboration’ i.e. real-time sharing of text, video, pictures and pretty much any other form of web hosted content in a window.

The ‘Wave’ can then be replayed, edited and shared, and embedded in other sites using Google’s API.

Whether it will take off or not, it’s too early to tell. However, if it does, then Google’s hold on the web will grow immeasurably stronger. Which can only be a bad thing.

Nevertheless, I’ve asked for my invite and I suggest you do too!
